In the Name of Allah, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful

Volume1 letter 21

From: Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Motala Sahib

To: Hazrat Moulana Abdur-Raheem Motala Sahib

Date: Zhi'qada 1385/ February-March 1966

Dearly respected Molvi Abdur-Raheem Sahib Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi

Wabarakatuh

After the sunnah greeting, just to elucidate that I received your letter and was genuinely saddened to read it; there's no sense feeling remorseful, just pray for forgiveness. Today I took receipt of brother Gulam Muhammad Sahib's detailed letter, but as yet I still await the receipt of the monies sent by mother, Inshallah they will arrive.

Furthermore, there is no objection on my part to the method that you suggested in relation to the money. Currently I receive 25 Rupee monthly; if instead if you were to send 30 Rupee, then by adding 5 Rupee from myself I will present 10 Rupee to Hazrat in your name inshallah, as I will require at least 20 Rupee for myself.

Once the arrival of Molvi Gulam Muhammad is determined I will certainly write to let you know. Hazrat Sheikh's (May his shadow be lengthened) health is weary yet he is resolute in maintaining his daily and nightly prescriptive prayers, he expressed sadness at the untimely demise of uncle and at father's infirmity.

I believe Hazrat Sheikh is of the opinion that you occupy yourself with teaching Arabic somewhere, albeit the family may prefer you to stay at home, in any case whatever is ordained will be. Presently, after the Asr gathering there was news of the passing of Sheikh Ji Budhu, pray that Allah grants the deceased the highest stages of Jannut-ul-Firdous.

There was relative calm here during the occasion of Holi, but there have been some reports of unrest in the neighbouring locality. Pray that Almighty Allah establishes peace and security and may he also ameliorate the prevalent conditions. I have written a letter of condolence to Brother Yakub at Varethti.

This useless-one's lessons are taking place satisfactorily and I am writing notes on Mishkaat and Jalalayn. I have completed about 100 pages on the oration of Mishkaat and apart from the text and the footnotes of the Jalalayn I write the rest. This unworthy-one intends to purchase a copy of the Mishkaat Sharif and reproduce what is written in the copy of Moulana Yunus Sahib. Pray that Almighty Allah assists me.

Molvi Ismail, Molvi Gulam Muhammad and Brother Shahid etc are sending their salutations. Kindly communicate my greetings and request for prayers to our acquaintances, especially to Chothi Khala.

That is all, Salaam

Yusuf
